On February 8, Noble Academy celebrated a momentous occasion. The entire student body, staff, Board of Trustees, several alumni, and many parents, grandparents, and friends of the school were on hand to witness breaking ground for the new building. “We have been waiting for this day for over a decade and are excited that it is finally here,” says Head of School Laura Mlatac. “Turning our expansion dreams into reality means that our community has a need for what we offer, and now we will be able to expand our programming to better meet that need.” After a few opening remarks from Linda Hale, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Laura Mlatac, Phil Warrick, head of the Expansion Committee, and Michell Kirkpatrick, co-chair of the Capital Campaign Committee, members of these committees donned construction hats and broke ground with shiny gold shovels. Board Chair Linda Hale thanked everyone for supporting the school.“I couldn't be prouder of all the work we are doing to prepare Noble Academy for the future.” CSC Construction has already set up their headquarters on site and is preparing to begin construction. Noble Academy plans to be able to use the new building by January 2012. Noble Academy serves students in grades K-12 with learning differences. The school features small class sizes, individualized instruction and a range of athletic and fine arts opportunities. Even with the expansion, Noble Academy will stay true to its mission, adding space, state of the art facilities, and new programs without losing the personal and supportive environment that is so successful for its students.
